Our Mission
St. Joseph Pantry Shelf is a ministry of St. Joseph Parish in Fortuna, CA. The mission of the Pantry Shelf is to extend the love of God in a special way to those in crises through the distribution of food and referral to local social services. The Pantry is an equal opportunity provider.
Who We Are
St. Joseph Pantry Shelf is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodity distribution site. We receive USDA and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) food from Food for People in Eureka. The Pantry Shelf is also supported by food donations collected through the USPS Letter Carriers’ Food Drive and many local churches, schools, and service organizations. Parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church also support the Pantry Shelf with cash and food donations. Cash donations enable us to purchase extra items from local grocers to provide special food additions to the food boxes. Many local families have also provided fresh fruits and vegetables in season from their gardens and orchards.
Whom We Serve
